5K2K means 5120x2160. It is the ultrawide answer to 4K, and it exists because 3440x1440 stretched across 40-plus inches looks soft.
Here is the finding that matters most, straight from the catalog: of 16 monitors at 5120x2160, only five are OLED, and every one of them is an LG WOLED. The rest are IPS or VA, mostly at 60 to 180Hz. There is no QD-OLED at 5K2K. If you want a 5K2K OLED, you are buying from LG.

The first 5K2K ultrawide OLED. 45 inches, 800R curve, 165Hz, rated to 1,300 nits peak, with a dual mode that drops to 2560x1080 at 330Hz on a button press. At 123.5 PPI it is noticeably sharper than the 3440x1440 panels it replaces, though still short of a 27-inch 4K display.
LG UltraGear Evo 39GX950B
The more interesting one for desk use. Same 5K2K resolution compressed into 39 inches, which lifts density to 142.5 PPI, and it is the first ultrawide built on tandem WOLED. TFTCentral measured roughly a 28 percent luminance improvement over the 45-inch model, which is a large generational jump and directly addresses the brightness complaint about earlier WOLED ultrawides.
If your desk cannot take a 45-inch screen, or you want the higher pixel density, this is the better of the two.

The GPU line matters more than it looks. 5120x2160 is 44 percent more pixels than 3440x1440. If your card struggles at 3440x1440 today, 5K2K will not feel like an upgrade in games regardless of how good the panel is.
One more consideration specific to ultrawides: text rendering. Ultrawide OLED has historically sat at lower pixel density than 16:9 OLED, which makes subpixel layout more visible rather than less.
